Darkline Studio is a small studio, not an ad network. This page explains — in plain English — what personal data we collect when you visit our site or engage us, why we hold it, how long we keep it, and how you get it removed.

Who we are

Darkline Studio operates this website (https://darklinebrandingstudio.com) and the services described on it. Our head office is at 340 Valencia St., San Francisco, CA 94103, USA.

The data controller for anything you send us is Darkline Studio. Email hello@darklinebrandingstudio.com or write to the address above and you will reach the same person either way.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to do the job you hired us for and to keep this site working. Nothing is sold, nothing is rented, nothing goes to third-party data brokers.

Data we may hold

  • Contact-form submissions — name, work email, company, message, budget, timeline.
  • Newsletter signups — email address only.
  • Job applications — name, email, portfolio link, role of interest, optional cover message.
  • Session analytics — anonymised page views, device class, referrer, coarse country. We use a privacy-first analytics tool that does not set cross-site cookies.
  • Server logs — IP address, user agent and timestamp, retained for 30 days for abuse mitigation.

Why we collect it

Legitimate business interest: replying to your enquiry, delivering the service, sending the newsletter you signed up for, protecting the site from abuse.

Contractual necessity: fulfilling a signed statement of work, invoicing, and honoring the tax obligations that come with it.

How long we keep it

Contact-form submissions: kept for 24 months after the last interaction, then deleted.

Newsletter signups: kept until you unsubscribe. One click at the bottom of any newsletter.

Client project data: retained for 7 years after project close for tax and audit reasons, then destroyed.

Analytics: aggregated, no personal identifiers, kept for 14 months.

Sub-processors we share with

We use a small, deliberate stack. Each vendor is bound by a data-processing agreement and only sees what it needs to work.

  • Vercel — website hosting and edge delivery.
  • Resend — transactional and newsletter email delivery.
  • Plausible Analytics — cookie-free, EU-hosted analytics.
  • Notion — internal project documentation.
  • Stripe — invoicing and payment (only where a signed engagement exists).

Section · 06

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can email us and ask for a copy of everything we hold on you, a correction, or a deletion. We reply within 30 days. If you are in the EU, UK, California or another jurisdiction with a formal privacy law, you also have the specific rights that law grants — access, portability, objection, restriction, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

Send any request to hello@darklinebrandingstudio.com with the subject line "Privacy request". We will not charge you and we will not ask you to jump through hoops.

Children

This is a business-to-business studio. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data to us, email the address above and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We update this page whenever we change vendor, purpose or retention window. Substantive changes are highlighted at the top for 30 days. The "last updated" date at the top of this page is the authoritative version marker.
